I am home...
Sunrise on the Paghman mountains. I have arrived to subzero temperatures-an ice block for a house with our water tanks completely frozen...and no husband. He is in the states trying to get an Afghan visa...a mystifying process with an indefinite time line. Glad to be home though and animals happy to see me.

I remember the large mountain in the background. I climbed it once with my brothers and some friends. We descended in the dark and our parents were frantic with worry. It was the first of many adventures I experienced in Afghanistan.
